A Love Story Written in the Mist
The rain followed me the entire drive, steady and relentless, until the moment I arrived. Almost on cue, it softened into a mist and then disappeared completely just in time for their first look. By the time they saw each other, the air was calm and the rain had disappeared, leaving behind the freshest scent and a crisp, clear backdrop for their love story. As a Pacific Northwest Wedding Photographer, these are the moments I live for — when the weather shifts just enough to feel like part of the story rather than a challenge. While we moved into formal portraits the groomsmen dried off the morning rain from the ceremony chairs behind me. I love that busy wedding energy, when everything in front of my lens looks immaculate and completely romantic because behind me a community is rallying together.
There was no stopping this couple from climbing into the boat on the property, and honestly, I was so excited they did! The water was glassy and clear, creating reflections that felt almost unreal. Dinner and cake were shared outdoors before the celebration moved inside for dancing, where I stayed long enough to capture the formal dances before heading out. By then, the rain had returned, gently tapping along the drive home. It was one of those perfectly imperfect Pacific Northwest days, where the rain doesn’t ruin anything — it just shows up like it always has, cleansing, nourishing and welcoming new life. I couldn’t think of a better way to start a new chapter and commitment.
