A Summer DIY Wedding at the Walters Cultural Arts Center in Hillsboro

Capturing the Magic of a DIY Wedding:

This summer, I had the honor of photographing a stunning DIY wedding at the Walters Cultural Arts Center in Hillsboro, Oregon. The couple’s creative spirit truly shone through every detail, from the handmade decor to the personal touches that reflected their unique personalities and interests. It was a celebration of love, craftsmanship, and individuality.

The couple, along with their friends and family, poured their hearts into creating a wedding that was truly one-of-a-kind. The groom’s suit was beautifully hand-embroidered, the tablecloths were woven from wool, and the banners were dyed using vegetables. Even the flowers were homegrown by the bride, adding an extra layer of meaning to the day. It was a true DIY celebration that perfectly highlighted who they are as a couple.

Handmade Details and Heartfelt Moments

After a beautiful ceremony inside the cultural center followed by a garden party cocktail hour the day was wrapped up by a lively reception. It was full of energy and fun, thanks to the incredible live local band, The Neon Prairie Dogs. Their music had everyone on their feet, dancing and celebrating late into the night. The lively atmosphere and the joy of the guests made it clear that this was a wedding to remember.

Capturing the magic of a DIY wedding is always special, and this one was no exception. Every handmade detail told a story, and it was such a privilege to be there to document it all. This wedding was a beautiful reflection of the couple’s love, creativity, and the incredible community they’ve built around them.
