A White Salmon Wedding

Mid August I find myself on a windy gravel road driving up to what feels like summer camp amongst these tall beautiful trees. Everything is in full bloom. This wedding season has been full of breathtaking views and moments and this wedding was no different.

During the reception, I glanced toward the tree line and saw that golden hour light just beginning to glow behind it. I immediately went searching for the couple. Once I found them, we slipped off the dance floor and made our way to some beautiful bushes in full bloom—and just like that, golden hour was officially on.

After capturing a few portraits, I couldn’t bring myself to waste that dreamy light. I turned around and saw most of the bridesmaids had gathered nearby. Perfect timing. We had already taken bridal party photos earlier in the day, but when you have light like that (and your best friends all together), why not take a few more?

Being a few hours into the reception also made that “pretend-to-be-drunk walk” look extra convincing. I’ll never tell why 😉
