J & C – Gresham, Oregon Engagement Session

I love an unassuming location—running around a neighborhood and taking advantage of photo backdrops that seem to magically appear. This quiet little spot was the perfect example of how simple, everyday places can make the most meaningful settings. When Jade called me and said, “Ok i have an idea for a location but it might be a little weird”, I was automatically in. She described a field she passes by on her commute to and from work. She said its beautiful and over grown, its across the street from the dairy queen. Sounded interested and she was right it was flawless.

Growing up in California the amount of green that just freely grows is nothing short of miracle to me. If you look at my California heavy portfolio you can tell my eye always wondered to any green tree I could find. I love living in the Pacific Northwest where the greenery abounds, what a gift. Jade, Calvin and I scampered around the clearing taking pictures for about an hour. Then we wrapped up the evening with fries and milkshakes at that Dairy Queen across the street. It felt like the perfect ending to such a fun, laid-back session in this modest and demure little location. I can’t wait for their fall backyard wedding later this year!
